Wearing vintage jewellery is a quick and easy way to dress up an outfit and add interest and style.
We love the classic collar length necklaces which became associated with quality makers such as Trifari and Monet in the 1950's and '60's. Most have a weighted extender chain and can be adjusted from a choker style length to sit just below your collar bone, which makes them extremely versatile. You can create many different looks with this shorter length necklace and here are a few of our current favourites:
It's a classic: lift a simple round neck shift dress with a collar sitting at the neckline. A gold tone necklace is perfect for a smart daytime, tailored look. For evening chose a sparkling collar, embellished with crystals.
A short collar length necklace balances out a deep V neckline. Try adding a contrasting longer necklace, for a modern layered look.
High ruffle neck tops and blouses are a big trend for autumn. Accentuate this pretty collar style with a short necklace, adjusted to sit over the top of the collar, just below the ruffle.
Rather than wearing a necklace inside the neckline, try adding a subtle embellishment with a short necklace worn under the collar of a shirt.
Create a high collar by standing up the collar of a blouse and holding it in place with a necklace fastened snugly over the top (this works best with a blouse with a small soft collar).
Tip: If your collar necklace isn't sitting well, you've probably put it on upside down...
