A small 1950's beautiful quality leather framed handbag, made in England by Waldybag (whose hand painted satin evening bags were popular with the British royal family). It is a lovely, unusual dusky green colour. The general condition is very good. The frame is leather covered, the fittings are gold tone, with slight tarnishing. The snap closure is tight. The base is unmarked, the corners have only the slightest rubbing. The exterior has minor creasing and surface scatches. There is slight rubbing to the leather pull below the clasp and a very slight indentation on the back, where the bag has been stored with the handle pressing against it. Some creasing of the leather on the handle. The interior is lined in green silk, which has discoloured in places with age, with some indentations to the silk (perhaps from carrying heavy/sharp objects). There are open internal pockets on both sides, edged in gold piping. The Waldybag logo and 'Made in England' are embossed in gold on the lining.
Measures: width 26cm (at widest point); height 17.5cm; depth 6.5 cm (at deepest point); handle drop 18cm.
