Late 1940’s/1950’s black framed handbag, made in England by Cordé. The design has an Art Deco influence, with a more elaborate pattern on the front of the bag. The frame is partially decorated with cord. The general condition is very good. The fittings are a rich gold tone, with slight tarnishing. The snap closure is tight. The cord is like new, clean and unmarked. The lining is black silk, which shows some signs of use, commensurate with age, but has not discoloured and is clean and unmarked. There is one zipped pocket (with original tassel pull), together with a slip pocket and lipstick pocket. The inside of the bag feels quite roomy. Measures: width 27cm; height 14cm; depth 8.5cm; handle drop to bag is 16.5cm.
