1960’s medium size, rich brown leather framed handbag by Lodix. An unusual, attractive, beehive shape in high quality super soft calf skin leather. The frame of the bag is partially leather covered, the fittings are gold tone, with slight tarnishing only to the clasp and handle rings. The snap closure is tight.
The general condition is very good. The base is clean and unmarked with minimal rubbing to the corners. There are some minor surface scratches on the back and some areas where the leather has darkened (along the scalloped edges of the bag and small areas on the front and back. Please refer to photos).
The handbag is lined in high quality soft suede, which shows slight signs of use, but has no significant marks. On one side there is a cut away pocket, with the logo ‘Lodix of England Handbags of Taste’ embossed in gold on the leather and two further open pockets, edged in leather and incorporating two smaller pockets for lipstick. There is a further open pocket, edged in leather on the other side, together with a zipped pocket.
Measures: width 27cm; height 17.5cm; depth 9.5cm. Handle drop is 16 cm to top of bag.
